Enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Good menu, very reasonably priced, good service and an attractive venue. Quiet on the Friday we visited, but were able to book a table in advance just in case. Dog friendly, and parking available.
Just right for our pre ferry stop over. Lovely little rooms. Clean and tidy. Everything you need, huge fluffy bath towels, USB sockets for phone charging, tea n coffee. Full English breakfast Definitely will be back.
Nice little pub with small car park. Seemed popular the weekend we stayed (end of September). Lovely Bijou, ensuite double room above the pub with with separate entrance. Staff friendly and helpful, nice cooked breakfast on Sunday morning. 5 minutes walk from Crabble Mill. Thank you for a nice relaxed stay.
My girlfriend and I had a really lovely stay at The Royal Oak for Valentine’s Day. The room was very cozy, clean, and full of character. Everything felt warm and welcoming, with a great atmosphere. Traditional English breakfast was freshly prepared with generous portions. The pub is really local and full of lovely people! The service was friendly and welcoming. We arrived earlier than expected and our room was already prepared. Would definitely recommend and happily stay again!

Rooms look like they’ve recently been refurbished, lovely decor and cosy rooms. Coffee machine and lovely shower. Free parking although it’s limited so a bit difficult in a large car, there’s other parking nearby though. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and the pub is really pleasant for an evening tipple. Bed comfy although slightly small and room 1 was very noisy (potentially from kitchen dishwasher below). Other than that, ideal stay and would recommend!
Family celebration, had the most wonderful Sunday Lunch here. Everything cooked perfectly by Heidi. The service was prompt and attentive, thankyou Dee. Nothing could have been improved on. All 8 of us were totally satisfied. The meal was delicious as were the desserts. Thoroughly recommend
